About Lewiston, MI - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!
Lewiston is a small, unincorporated community found in Michigan’s Montmorency County. About 1,400 people lived in this community as of 2010, and its modern history dates back to 1892.That year, Lewiston was formally established, and the Lewiston Area Historical Society Museum is presently located in one of the community’s original houses. Lewiston can be found on East Twin Lake in the northeastern portion of Lower Michigan.
There are many interesting places to visit in Lewiston. Coopersville Old West Town is arguably the most notable, as it brings the Old West to life with a general store, jail, and livery. The Lewiston Beach allows visitors to get out on the water during the warmer months, and Garland features 54 holes of golf on this 3,500-acre resort. Lewiston is home to many unique restaurants like Lewiston Lodge, The Spot Grille and Smokehouse, and Villager Restaurant, and specialty shops in the community include Tee Lake Mercantile and My Sister’s Stone Cottage.
Both visitors and residents of Lewiston need to be prepared for diverse weather conditions throughout the year. The most dangerous season is the winter, as it is long and cold with heavy snowfall. Average daily high temperatures stay below freezing for much of the season, and the area is impacted by lake effect snowfall. During the average year, Lewiston receives about 140 inches of total snow accumulation, so there are many days when residents are best to stay indoors. Gas and electric furnace systems are both available to help indoor conditions remain safe and comfortable throughout the year.
Fortunately, these cold, snowy days don’t last forever, and summer weather in Lewiston is quite pleasant. Temperatures are warm in the upper-70s, although humidity levels can be high. While they will certainly get less use than furnace systems, central air conditioning units are quite popular to keep indoor temperatures cool while removing excess humidity.
